This Saturday the Ted Constant Center will be full with all your favorite athletes and entertainers. Bam Bam’s Spring Jam Annual Celebrity Basketball Game, organized by NFL star Kam Chancellor, returns to the Constant Center for the second year in a row for an exciting game of basketball right here in Norfolk, VA.
A Norfolk native, Kam Chancellor played football at Maury High School. He started off at the quarterback position and ended up passing for over 2,000 yards his senior year. After high school, Chancellor signed with Virginia Tech. Kam, after transitioning from quarterback to the secondary, played 4 years at Virginia Tech finishing with 6 interceptions, 208 tackles, 4 fumble recoveries, and 2 forced fumbles. Kam was then drafted in the 5th round by the Seattle Seahawks. Now approaching his 8th season in the league, he has established himself as one of the best defensive players in the league as a 4 time Pro Bowler and a Superbowl winner. Off the field, Chancellor has established the Kam Cares Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization providing the academic tools necessary for children to succeed in under-served communities in both Hampton Roads and Seattle. If you’re looking for more information on the Kam Cares Foundation or looking for a way to get involved, visit their website here.

Joining Chancellor will be Washington Redskin’s cornerback Josh Norman, coming off his first season in Redskin’s uniform where he recorded 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 67 tackles. Another Hampton Roads native, Tyrod Taylor, played at Hampton High School before committing to Virginia Tech. Taylor was an ACC Player of the Year at Virginia Tech and was drafted in the 6th round by the Baltimore Ravens. Now a member of the Buffalo Bills, he has a Super Bowl ring from his time in Baltimore and has also made one Pro Bowl appearance. Another local quarterback will also be making an appearance. Joining Bam Bam’s basketball game as coach is Michael Vick, born in Newport News and a player at Warwick High School. Vick, like Taylor, also played quarterback for Virginia Tech. While playing there, Vick won the Archie Griffin award for being the most valuable player and was also the first pick of the 2001 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons. During his professional career Vick made 4 Pro Bowl appearances and won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award in 2010.
